How Long Does It Take to Get a Kenyan Visa?

Getting a Kenyan visa online is a relatively fast process and doesn’t take much time to complete at all. The application form itself only takes a few clicks and in as little as a couple of days you will be able to receive a fully approved Kenya visa and be totally ready to embark on your trip.

The processing time for the Kenya eVisa is approximately 24 to 72 hours from the time of submission. However, it is always a good idea to apply for your entry visa in advance just in case of complications with the application or any holiday periods that could cause slower application processing.

The times of the year when your application may be delayed by public holidays are Independence Day and Christmas in December, Madaraka Day in June, Mashujaa Day in October and the annual Easter celebrations in spring. If you are planning to submit an application for a Kenya visa during these periods please be aware that there might be some delay in the processing of your document.

Filling out the Kenya visa application form should not take longer than approximately 15-20 minutes. The application form consists of basic visa information such as personal details, passport information, travel plans, and security questions. During the process, you will be required to submit your answers to the application form and a couple of supporting identifying documents.

You will also be required to include a photo that must be in color and which must have been taken in the previous 6 months. Please also bear in mind that your face must be clearly visible in the photo and no non-prescription eye-glasses or headgear are permitted. Any errors with the photo could lead to delays in the processing of your visa.

Once the application is filled out and paid for, the application will be submitted to the Kenyan Government and the processing time is usually between 24 and 72 hours.

Finally, once approved, you will receive your Kenya visa by email to your chosen email address. If for any reason you’ve not received any correspondence after 72 hours always be sure to check the spam folder of your email inbox

Please note: Failing to complete the correct information or application errors could lead to the rejection of the visa application or a delay in the application processing time. Always apply with plenty of time in advance in order to ensure receiving your Kenya visa on time.
