  • A form of payment: Travelers will need a form of payment, such as a debit card or credit card, in order to pay for your Kenyan visa.

Apply for the Kenya Visa for Indian Citizens

Applying for the Kenyan visa is a fast and easy process. All travelers must fill out the Kenya visa form for Indian nationals with the information above. It is a good idea to keep paperwork such as your passport, travel itinerary, and a form of payment nearby so that you have easy access to it while filling out the application.

After travelers submit their application, they must wait for their visa. This usually takes approximately two business days (48 hours), although the timing may be different due to demand and holidays.

The Kenyan visa for Indian nationals is initially valid for a stay of up to 30 days. If the traveler wishes to stay longer than 30 days, they must apply in person for an extension at the Immigration Headquarters in Nairobi. A visa extension may be granted twice, for a total of up to 5 additional months.

Travelers are encouraged to print out a copy of their approved eVisa in case the immigration officer asks for it at the border.

Kenya Visa on Arrival for Indian Passport Holders

Indian citizens are encouraged to use the efficient eVisa system and obtain a Kenyan visa before departure. However, Indian passport holders are still able to get a visa on arrival at an international airport.

The main difference between the Kenya VOA and eVisa or embassy visa is that travelers depart without the essential permit and instead wait in line at the airport after arriving in Kenya.  Queues can build up, especially during busy periods, so travelers who wish to obtain a Kenya visa on arrival should allow extra time for their journey.

Visa on arrival fees must be paid in cash at the airport. Applicants need the exact amount in US dollars on arrival to pay for the visa.

Indian tourists considering getting a visa on arrival should bear in mind that their Kenya visa request could be rejected. To avoid this risk, travelers are advised to have all their documents in order before leaving India.
